Annual Citizens Choice Awards Gala

Every year, the Alva Chamber hosts the Citizens Choice Awards Gala to recognize and honor citizens and businesses who have significantly contributed to the community in the past year.

Community members have the opportunity to nominate those who will receive the awards.

2023 Awards Categories

Alva community members and Alva Chamber Businesses are eligible to be nominated for the following awards. These awards will be presented at the annual gala on Thursday, March 23, 2023.

Service Business of the Year

Lifetime Achievement Award

Individual who has made a significant development in the history of Alva.

Citizen of the Year

Alva area citizen involved in growing the community through their vision, leadership, and volunteer work.

Community Positive Impact Award

A person or group that embodies an overall spirit of giving through contributions of time, leadership, and resources in our community; they show a high level of giving through volunteer engagement, community impact, and philanthropic engagement.

Arts, Music, & Theatre Award

Individual OR organization who advances and contributes to the Alva community through the arts and culture.

Educator of the Year

Educator, staff, or faculty member who is a role model to their students and peers.

Public Safety Professional

Individual that excels in the Alva Fire Department, Alva Police Department, Sheriff's Department, Bill Johnson Correctional Facility, or Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Healthcare Professional

Individual who exhibits a caring, professional attitude while performing their services. Eligible individuals include EMT, Paramedics, Doctors, Dentists, Nurses, Physical Therapists, Mental Health, and Veterinarians.
