There are daytime programs available in automotive collision technology, automotive technology, business and computer technology, e-commerce/web design, computer repair & networking, construction technology, diesel, health science, occupational science, occupational services and welding. Specialized programs offered at NTC are adult basic education/GED, adult training and development, bid assistance, business and industry management and Project HOPE. NWTC offers many services to their students including an Education Enhancement Center (EEC) that provides basic academic support in math, reading, and communication skills. Counseling services also are provided by NWTC, in which students are assisted with occupational choices, personal development, academic problems and assessment services where students are tested to measure career interests, abilities and work values. Area businesses and industries often contact NTC to request trained persons to fill job openings. Job placement is handled by program instructors who know each student’s capabilities and training. | In 1996, Northwestern campuses were created in Enid and Woodward. While the campuses in Woodward and Enid offer some student services, the Alva campus is the hub of Northwestern and the base for administrative offices, academic programs and athletic teams. Campus life at Northwestern is a mix of small town friendliness and many student activities. The university is the cultural center of the region with on-campus events such as plays, concerts and lectures. Nearly every academic department has a student organization and the university encourages all students to become involved in various student activities. Memberships in other professional, religious, political, academic and social clubs or organizations are available. Students also may become members of the Student Government Association, university music and drama groups, as well as campus media. Intramural athletics allow students of all athletic abilities to participate in team sports such as football, volleyball, basketball and softball. Varsity athletics play an important role at Northwestern. As a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, the university sponsors athletic competition for men and women in many sports. The university offers special student services through a counseling center, academic assistance center, student health center and a pre-admissions and career services office.
